The simulation of multi-domain physics problems has been perfected in a way that will allow a completely virtual design for a class of problems once the underlying simulation models have been validated. Other than physical experiments, a multi-domain physics simulation model will allow to project individual contributions of parts, physical effects, tolerances etc. on the desired design goal, and thus enable a fully parameterized goal driven optimization towards a perfect design.
Peer Technologies has worked on the multi-domain physics simulation of complex actuators and sensors, including their electronic control. Areas: electrostatics, electromagnetics, electrodynamics, fluidics, fluid-structure interaction, magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ceramics as well as micro-mechanical elements using novel hybrid composites with inherent damping characteristics.
